The open primary, simultaneous and mandatory elections began in Argentina at 08:00 (11:00 GMT) local time. Only applicants that exceed 1.5 percent of the valid votes cast will be participating in the elections on October 25 to succeed Argentinean President Cristina Fernandez, whose mandate will end on December 10, 2015.
