According to local press, Ecuador's Vice President Jorge Glas headed on Wednesday the startup of the first 4 turbines of the Coca Codo Sinclair hydroelectric power station, generating 750 megawatts of the 1,500 that it will produce at full capacity. Coca Codo Sinclair, the biggest hydroelectric power station in Ecuador, will supply the 30 percent of the nation's electric energy needs and it is a project by China's Sinohydro, famous for building in China the Three Gorges Dam.
