Mahad: A view of the bridge across Savitri river, near Mahad that was built as an old masonry arch bridge constructed in 1928 nearby had collapsed due to heavy rain on August 2 last year. The project was speedily executed in a record 165 days before the onset of monsoon at a cost of Rs 35.77 crore. The new bridge, made of anti-corrosive steel, is 16 metres wide and 239 metres long and is fitted with flood alarm system.
