Almost 3 million voters of the Republic of Moldova are called on Sunday to elect the new parliament in a poll held simultaneously with a referendum on the reduction of the number of deputies. For the first time in the history of the country, the parliamentary elections take place on the basis of the mixed voting system, in which the deputies are elected simultaneously in a single national constituency and in 51 uninominal constituencies.
