MANILA, Oct. 19, 2016 - A policeman arrests an activist during a violent dispersal of a protest rally in front of the U.S. Embassy in Manila, the Philippines, Oct. 19, 2016. Thousands of Moro and indigenous people trooped to the U.S. Embassy to support the President Rodrigo Duterte's "independent foreign policy" and call for the abolition of the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT), Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), and the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) between the Philippines and the U.S.. Over 50 protesters were injured during the violent dispersal while 30 activists were arrested by policemen.
