Thousands of voodoo worshippers from all over Haiti make a religious journey every summer to Mirebalais village, hoping to be purified in the holy waters of the waterwall of Saut d'Eau. It is believed that 150 years ago, the Haiti's Patron Saint, Lady of Monte Carmelo, appeared on a palm tree in Saut d'Eau, she is considered in the voodoo culture of Haiti as the goddess of love.
