The 388th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, also known as Shivaji Jayanti was celebrated across Maharashtra with fervor. People visited various parks and other places where Shivaji Maharaj’s statues are installed and paid their tribute. The Chembur park was decked up as a fort of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, near his statue to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Maratha king. The beautification of the park garnered many visitors on the occasion. Meanwhile in Aurangad too, saffron flags were flying high everywhere to mark Shivaji Jayanti amid huge enthusiasm. Chhatrapati Shivaji, known as the creator of Maratha empire, was born on February 19 in 1630 at Shivneri Fort in Pune.
