The Bharatiya Janata Party hit back at Congress over the alleged engagement of Cambridge Analytica (CA) by political parties and said that the engagement of the "data stealing" company by Rahul Gandhi for his 2019 campaign is a matter of concern for the entire nation. Criticising Rahul Gandhi for engaging the company as a "Brahmastra" for "relaunching himself" for the 2019 General Elections so that he flies "higher than PM Modi", BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the engagement is, in reality, a "dividing weapon which will honeytrap millions of Indians using social media". Adding that the BJP has nothing to hide, Patra said that the company was formed in 2013 and thus could not campaign for the BJP in 2014 General Elections.
