UIDAI CEO admits lapses and lacunae in Aadhaar system
UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey has admitted lapses and lacunae in the Aadhaar system. Pandey also admitted that wrong data had been entered deliberately and erroneously and the Aadhaar system had quality control problems. He also hinted that corruption and machine error were problems that were being faced by the agency. A day after defending the introduction of Aadhaar before the Supreme Court, the Centre asked Pandey to make a presentation before the judges. The CEO also answered all queries of the bench on issues like surveillance, data security and exclusion.
