Kidambi Srikanth has scaled the peak of the men’s BWF men’s singles rankings for the first time, his place at No. 1 confirmed on Thursday to further underscore how potent a force he has become in world badminton. The 25-year-old shuttler’s prolific form in 2017, during which he won a record four Super Series titles, has helped him reach 76895 rating points, the best ever by an Indian male badminton player. Srikanth, who was crowned Sportsperson of the Year at the third Mahindra Scorpio Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) in February, today displaced Denmark’s Victok Axelsen from the top spot.
