Incessant rains since the last few days have created a flood-like situation in Imphal. The rain has thrown normal life out of gear and residents are facing problems due the increasing water level. The water level in rivers is beyond the danger mark due to the rains. In Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb conducted an aerial survey of the work being done across flood affected areas on Wednesday. CM Biplab also visited a flood relief camp at Netaji Vidyaniketan in Unakoti's Kailashahar, one of the most badly affected areas during floods. The water levels in major rivers- Gomati, Deo, Manu, and Haora were swelling with every passing hour, posing flood threat throughout the state. Six districts of Assam - Golaghat, Karbi Anglong East, Karbi Anglong West, Biswanath, Karimganj and Hailakandi - have been flooded since monsoon hit the state early this month. More than 10,000 people including 3,941 children from flood-hit districts have taken shelter in 71 relief camps.
