After being influenced by a movie highlighting the use of sanitary pads, two teenage girls from Chandigarh have started a hygiene campaign, 'spot free', for girls living in slum areas of the city. These two young ‘padwomen’ Jaanvi Singh and Laavanya Jain have taken an initiative to make and distribute hygienic sanitary pads among the underprivileged girls. With a confident face 15-year-old Jaanvi explained that after watching the movie, initially they thought of buying pads and distributing it to women who can't afford it. But the high cost prompted them to make the sanitary pads on their own. It is so wonderful to see that the two youngsters are getting immense of support from their family, friends and even strangers. Perhaps as it goes with the saying when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
