Film director Ram Gopal Varma has announced another biopic based on Sanjay Dutt. According to a leading daily the film will focus on Sanjay Dutt’s association with the underworld and his connection of possessing an AK-56 rifle around the 1993 Mumbai blast case. Presently, Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’ is running successfully at theatres, however, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer was so involved in bashing the media that it almost forgot how badly the 1993 blasts affected Mumbai and citizens. Unlike Hirani, Varma’s films are known for being darker. ‘Ram Gopal Varma’s film will focus on people who threatened Dutt’s family — spurring him to acquire the rifle that got him in trouble — how the firearm was delivered to him, and how it was disposed of,’ a source confirmed to the publication.
