India Gate gets prepared for the Independence Day celebrations. Fire fighters conducted the gigantic exercise of cleaning up the India Gate ahead of the 72nd Independence Day celebrations in Delhi. India Gate commemorates 70,000 soldiers from British Indian Army who died during the First World War during 1914-21. It is among one of the largest war memorials in the country. The Amar Jawan Jyoti was subsequently built under the arch of India Gate to honour the 3,843 soldiers who died liberating Bangladesh in 1971.
