Google celebrates the 187th birth anniversary of the father of modern football, Ebenezer Cobb Morley, today with its trademark Google doodle. Ebenezer Cobb Morley was a Britisher by birth and a founding member as well as the first secretary of the Football Association (FA) in 1863. The FA, based out of Wembley Stadium in London is the oldest football body in the world and created the rules that shape the way modern football is played. Morley proposed an association governing football and the laws of the game were chartered at his home. The 13 laws were then followed across clubs in England.
