As the state is battling unprecedented floods, there are people who have shown a great devotion and courage to bring the flood-affected to safety. A video of an IAF officer winching up a child with him to a chopper where the toddler's mother was waiting has invited praise. The officer slipped down the rope to the terrace of a two-storey building where people were stranded. The video shows how young officers of the defence forces have been risking their lives to save the flood-affected. Rains in Kerala have now subsided and waters are receding.
