Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in a tweet said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi should contest from the state in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. In his tweet, the Congress leader said, "Karnataka has always supported and encouraged Indian National Congress leaders. It has been proved in case of Smt. Indira ji and Smt. Sonia ji. We also want our next prime minister of India Shri Rahul Gandhi to contest from Karnataka and herald a new developmental paradigm". Siddaramaiah’s tweet came at a time when everyone is speculating whether Rahul Gandhi will contest from Amethi or not.
