The true power of social media is that it allows people to put forth their opinions, engage with people who have polarising views and to create ties. And recently, lyricist Javed Akhtar was reminded of all these and more by netizens when he lashed out at filmmaker Shekhar Kapur for his 'fear of intellectuals' tweet, asking him to even visit a psychiatrist. Shekhar Kapur had tweeted about these 'intellectuals' who embraced him 'after his films' became successful. In response to this, Akhtar posted a series of tweets, calling him a 'poor rich but lonely guy', asking him to 'cut the melodrama'. However, netizens were quick to come to the filmmaker's aide, calling him 'prejudiced' 'paradoxical' and 'insecure'.
