Onam is the annual harvest festival in the state of Kerala. Every part of the state celebrates Onam with great pomp and show. Have a glimpse at how Fort Kochi residents celebrated Onam. The main attraction of this locality was a huge flower carpet of about 500 square feet area it was prepared with the participation of all the residents of the locality mindless of religion caste and creed. This flower carpet stands out for the fact that normally flower petals are placed on dry ground but here the flowers themselves appear into a wet medium. Being a tourism area the celebration attracts a lot of foreigners a lot of who take part in all the activities dressed in traditional attire. The different games that were organised were Pookkalam (flower carpet), Onathappan (worship), Onam Kali, Tug of War, Thumbi Thullal (women's dance), Kummattikali (mask dance), Onathallu (martial arts), Onavillu (music), Onapottan (costumes), Atthachamayam (folk songs and dance), and other celebrations.
