Foreign currencies worth Rs 19.85 lakh were seized from the trolley bag of a passenger at Trichy international airport. The custom officials stopped a passenger identified as Ali Abbas and checked his trolley bag. The Chennai based man was about to board a Kuala Lumpur-bound Air Asia flight on June 16 night. However, the custom officials could not arrest the man as the value of seized foreign currencies was less than Rs 20 lakh. The foreign currencies comprised of Saudi Riyals, Euro, Yen, Malaysian Ringgits, Australian dollar, Qatar Riyal and Francs.
