Porsche 911, the sports car that has been a fascination for generations. Porsche looks forward to make 911 as the leader, to deliver more and consume less than ever before. As the company claims, it is the sports car as beautiful now as it was on day one. It has been evolved after years of dedicated works and experiments. Engine, chassis and body all have undergone thousands of ideas and countless hours of development. It is the unique technical layout and that made 911 fit for the future since 1963. The 2+2 seats are the ideal concept for a compact purebed sports car that nevertheless offers an astonishing amount of space and an airy feel. The compact engine is placed at the rear end for providing optimum driveability by ensuring excellent traction. The lightweight construction offers efficient power delivery. Driving dynamics and ride comfort are linked together. Very thin but extremely stiff sheets of steel are used for the body construction. It is available in Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera S and Carrera S Cabriolet, GT2RS, GT3, GT3RS, Turbo and Turbo Cabriolet, Turbo S and Turbo S Cabriolet under the engine variants ranging from 3.5litres to 4 litres.
Porsche unites traditional and modern design in its 911 that ensures dynamism on road. The newly designed bonnet with LED technology in headlights with four point daytime running lights makes it dynamic. The newly designed exterior mirrors and lowering door handles are integrated into the car’s image. Overall 911 appears more compact, more polished and more technical.
Carrera Cabriolet is characterised by open virtues that is made for civilised cruising on the coastal road. The fabric hood gives it the elegance of Coupe silhouette. The 911 Turbo comes with black airblades and the front light units integrated into the air intakes. The rear lid grille with vertical slats, three dimensional tail lights and powerfully shaped twin tailpipes make it aggressive. The Turbo S Cabriolet comes with stable fabric hood with supporting elements to drag attention. The aerodynamically designed GT3 with large openings left and right, together with new air blades on each side improve cooling and performance as well. The new 911GT3 has an imposing appearance, exclusively designed for race track, it is 44mm wider and 25mm lower that the 911 Carrera. The new GT 2RS is the most powerful 911 ever built by Porsche, with the performance level of a super sports car. The design combines aerodynamics requirements of optimum downforce and maximum air supply.
The interior of Porsche is well equipped with its over 60 years of experience in sports car construction. The exquisitely laid out interior merges with the sporty design. The excellent ergonomics and comfort are meant for an everyday use. The new sporty steering wheel has style and high level of functionality. Porsche Communication management includes online navigation module with real time traffic information, voice control system and mobile phone connection.
Comfort And Convenience
Separately controllable two zone air conditioning system and the ascending centre console tell about the premium comfort inside. The five round instruments provide information instantly and accurately. The 4.6” color screen provides information from the on-board computer and displays the map of the navigation system.
The 911 models are equipped with advanced airbag technology in the form of full size driver and passenger airbags. Porsche Side Impact Protection System comes as standard in all 911 models. Carrera models are equipped with automatically deploying roll-over protection system. Turbo models are equipped with Porsche Stability management along with other features. 911 GT models come with club sport package that consists of a roll cage screwed to the body work to provide added protection on the racetrack.
The 2981cc 911 Carrera models delivers maximum power of 420PS at 6500rpm and maximum torque of 500Nm. The 3800 cc Turbo Cabriolet delivers maximum power of 540 PS and maximum torque of 710Nm. 3996 cc GT3 models are capable of producing 520PS power and maximum torque of 470Nm. All Carrera models and GT models are mated to 7 speed manual transmission while Turbo variants are paired to automatic transmission.
