Stinky body odor can be surely a nervous subject for most of us. Eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water can reduce the body odor, but sometimes we need a little help and depend on deodorants. However commercially-made deodorants may contain ingredients such as aluminum and parabens that cause diseases. The best way to avoid exposing our body to chemicals is to make our own all natural deodorants from non-toxic ingredients. Here are a few recipes for you.
- Recipe for deodorant bar in coconut oil.
The ingredients required are ½ cup of coconut oil, ½ cup of shea butter coca butter or mango butter, ½ cup of beeswax, one table spoon of vitamin E oil ( optional), three table spoons of baking soda(omit this if you are skin is sensitive), ½ cup of organic arrowroot powder, 2-3 capsules of probiotics and essential oils of your choice.
Combine shea(or other) butter, coconut oil and the bees wax in a double boiler or an in a glass bowl placed in a saucepan with one inch of water in it. Turn the burner on and bring the water to boil. Stir the ingredients well until they are melted completely. Then remove it from the burner and add all the other ingredients. Gently stir it by hand. Make sure that the mixture is not hot, but just warm. Then leave the liquid to harden for 20 minutes.
- Baking soda based deodorant
For making this deodorant powder, use a wide-mouthed plastic jar with a lid. Measure ¼ cup of baking soda and put it into the jar. Though baking soda is a substance that absorbs odor, it may cause skin irritation. Add ¼ cup of cornstarch or arrowroot that prevents skin irritation. Put the lid on and shake the ingredients well. Apply the powder with a cotton ball or hands.
- Homemade cream deodorant
Combine ¼ of cornstarch and ¼ cup of baking soda. Put the mixture into a saucepan placed on the burner. Add one tablespoon of coconut oil. When the oil is heated, mix the ingredients well. The mixture hardens into semi solid mass after cooling. Turn on the stove to the lowest flame and add 6 or 7 tablespoons of coconut oil into the mixture and mix it well until it has a creamy consistency. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool. You can apply it with your fingers.

There are many recipes that use apple cider vinegar as an ingredient for homemade deodorants. But you can uses plain old organic apple cider and swab it under your arms. This is a simple, easy and inexpensive deodorant. Apply apple cider with a cotton swab.
- Ethyl alcohol and tea tree oil
You can make your own natural homemade deodorant in a simple way. Buy a bottle of ethyl alcohol and refillable spray bottle. Pour the alcohol into the bottle. Add 10 drops of tea tree oil for every ounce of alcohol. Apply the deodorant for body odor caused by bacteria. You can try other essential oils as well.
- Lemon - The natural Deodorant
Many deodorants pose health risks. Lemon works as a natural deodorant. The citric acid in lemon juice can kill the odor-causing bacteria. Some people swipe their arm pit with a sliced lemon.
- Virgin coconut based deodorant
The ingredients required are 3 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil, two tablespoons of baking soda and six drops of lime essential oil. Mix the ingredients well in a bowl and make it into a paste. The deodorant cream is ready to use and it need not be refrigerated. Besides, you can try a different essential oil, if you want.
