Therefore, the cleaning of drains and smaller drains should be carried out with complete seriousness in all urban local bodies. Immediate disposal of the silt and waste removed after cleaning should be ensured so that it does not enter the drains again." He clearly instructed officials of all urban local bodies that negligence at any level in cleanliness arrangements would not be tolerated.
He stated, "Areas where waterlogging problems arise every year should be identified and effective drainage arrangements should be ensured there." A.K. Sharma also reviewed the drinking water supply and instructed officials that there should be no compromise whatsoever with the quality of drinking water during the rainy season. "Citizens should be provided adequate and pure drinking water. Wherever complaints related to drinking water supply are received, they should be resolved on priority," he directed.

Therefore, cleanliness, drainage, drinking water, lighting arrangements and other civic amenities should be kept in proper condition in advance. Special cleanliness should be ensured around religious and public places and additional resources should be arranged as required."
He instructed officials, "Regular monitoring of the arrangements of municipal corporations and urban local bodies should be carried out, and officials should not remain confined only to offices, but should go to the spot and inspect the arrangements."
