The Times Now-VMR opinion poll showed that Karnataka is heading for a photo-finish, and the way it looks now, JDS chief HD Kumaraswamy could well play the role of kingmaker. In the 224 member assembly, incumbent Congress is likely to get 91 seats, while BJP is just two seats behind with 89 seats, JDS gets 40, according to the survey. If polls were held now neither Chief Minister Siddaramaiah nor Yeddyurappa are in a position to form a government as they are both well short of the majority mark of 112 seats.
