KTM Bike Models
KTM has a big tradition in motorsport, building race-ready motorcycles for competitive and recreational riding. KTM is an Austrian motorcycle and sports car manufacturer owned by KTM industries. KTM has 130 world championship titles to its credit and tells about the company’s great technical expertise. Later, the company has entered into the street bike category with variety of sporting and adventure touring machines.
In 1934 an Austrian engineer Hans Trunkenpolz founded the KTM Company and its fist motorcycle is developed in 1950 under the name R100. The Trophy 125cc is its first sports motorcycle. By 1973, KTM started producing 250 Cross and Enduro bikes. KTM became the first to come with front and rear disc brakes on an off-road machine in 1986. KTM became bankrupt in 1991 and the newly found KTM Sports motorcycle AG began the production of Duke series of road models in 1994.
In 2007 Bajaj Auto Limited of India started to acquire KTM and now it holds 47% of its share. In India the KTM bikes widely recognised by its characteristic structure frame and orange color. KTM 200 Duke, 125 Duke, 250 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200 and RC 390 are available in Indian market. KTMs’ Duke and RC series are manufactured at Bajaj’s facility in Chakan and are exported to other parts of the world.
