July 16 : Netflix is coming up with a new wave of entertainment as 17 new films and a number of web series will soon premiere on the streaming platform. This interesting and diverse line-up is of various genres and formats. However, the premiere dates have not been announced yet.

Some of the films which will stream over the next few months include Anurag Basu’s comedy Ludo, Gitanjali Rao’s animated film Bombay Rose, Atul Sabharwal’s police drama Class of ’83, and Sanjay Dutt-starrer Torbaaz. Netflix will also stream a number of interesting web series including Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy based on Vikram Seth’s novel of the same name, and Mismatched, adapted from Sandhya Menon’s novel When Dimple Met Rishi. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

A biopic of the Indian Air Force pilot that stars Janhvi Kapoor, Angad Bedi, and Pankaj Tripathi, will premiere on August 12. Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced under Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, the film stars Janhvi as Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian female Air Force pilot in combat.

Ginny Weds Sunny

This romantic comedy stars Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey as the titular characters. Directed by debutant Puneet Khanna and produced by Vinod Bachchan, the film is about a match-maker mother, who is determined to write a fairy tale love story for her daughter.


This action thriller film starring Sanjay Dutt is directed by Girish Malik. While Sanjay will play the role of an army officer, the film is about child suicide bombers in Afghanistan.


Directed by Anurag Basu, Ludo is a dark anthology comedy film starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Asha Negi and Pankaj Tripathi.

Raat Akeli Hai

This crime thriller features Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles. Helmed by Honey Trehan, nothing much has been revealed about the storyline of the film.

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare

This comedy satire stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film also features Vikrant Massey and Amol Parashar in prominent roles.


It is a story about three women who dance to their own beat. This Netflix drama film is directed by Renuka Shahane and produced by Ajay Devgn. The film stars Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar in leading roles.

Class of '83

Produced by Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Atul Sabharwal, the film is about the story of a policeman-turned police instructor Vijay Singh, whose students grapple with the complexities of honour and devotion towards their country. The film stars Bobby Deol in the main role.

AK vs AK

This thriller movie is about a film actor’s daughter who has been kidnapped, and a director films the actor’s desperate search for his child in real time. The film stars Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap as the two titular AKs in Vikramaditya Motwane flick.


Bhaag Beanie Bhaag

This web series features Swara Bhasker and comedian Varun Thakur. The show follows the life of Beanie, who is an upcoming stand-up comic in Mumbai.

A Suitable Boy

Directed by Mira Nair and based on Vikram Seth’s novel of the same name, this web series is set in a newly post-independence, post-partition India. The series follows the story of four families over a period of 18 months. It stars Tabu and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.
