November 28 : Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon starrer action comedy Bachchan Pandey, which will go on the floors in January in Jaisalmer, has added one more name to its cast. The makers of the film have reportedly got Arshad Warsi onboard.
Sajid Nadiadwala’s film will go on a two-month long shoot schedule till March 2021. In Farhad Samji’s directorial film, Akshay plays a gangster who aspires to become an actor, while Kriti essays the role of a journalist who wants to become a director. Arshad Warsi has been roped in as Akshay’s friend and a member of his gang, a Mumbai Mirror report stated.
A source told the news portal that the makers wanted someone who can match Akshay’s comic timing and “they found him in Munnabhai’s Circuit, who, over the years, has aced this space.” Akshay and Arshad will share screen space for the first time. The report further added that Arshad’s track is an integral part of the narrative, and he will sport a special look as the character has multiple shades. Interestingly, although Akshay and Arshad have never worked together, they played the lead role in Jolly LLB franchise.
The film will have plenty of action scenes, which will be shot at real locations, choreographed by stunt teams from across the country, the report added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay had wrapped up the spy thriller Bell Bottom in Scotland in August. He was then back on the sets of the period drama Prithviraj in Mumbai, and will later join Aanand L Rai’s team for the love story Atrangi Re. Finally, he will be free to kick off Bachchan Pandey in the new year.
Kriti, on the other hand, is currently shooting for Hum Do Humaare Do with Rajkummar Rao. Immediately after the film, Kriti will move on to Bachchan Pandey. Post Bachchan Pandey, Kriti will start shoot for Bhediya with Varun Dhawan.
