Every year, members of the Mukherjee family, including yesteryear's star Tanuja, her daughters Kajol and Tanish Mukherjee, niece Rani Mukherjee and nephew, Ayan Mukherjee, among others, join the festivities. Many Bollywood celebs like the Bachchans also visit the puja organised by Deb Mukherjee.
Like last year, this year too, North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja went virtual as a safeguard against the Covid-19 pandemic. This Durga Puja pandal grabs a lot of media attention as it is organised by Ayan Mukherjee and Deb Mukherji. Deb Mukherjee said, "This is the second year we are doing a virtual Durga Puja. We have to maintain social distancing and wear masks, so we are not letting a lot of people come in. It is only for members. Keeping everyone's safety in mind, we thought going virtual was the best decision to make. Even the members are allotted a specific time slot when they can visit the pandal."
Taking to her Instagram handle, Kajol shared her look for the day 1 puja. The Tanhaji actress opted for a stunning pink saree, and tied her hair in a bun. She accessorised her saree with a gorgeous gold and pearl necklace. In one of the pictures, the actress can be seen laughing at a joke. She captioned the pictures as, “Started off all beautiful and then someone cracked a joke #alldressedup #durgapuja #sohappytobehere”.
