May 13 : Anubhav Sinha's socio-political drama Bheed, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, is slated to hit the theatres on November 18 this year. The official account of T-Series, which is backing the film, has shared the release date announcement on Twitter on Thursday. “Anubhav Sinha's socio-political drama #Bheed releasing on: 18th November, 2022. Starring #RajkumarRao and #BhumiPednekar, #Bheed is a joint venture of #BhushanKumar's #TSeries and #BenarasMediaWorks,” the tweet read.
Helmed by Anubhav Sinha, Bheed is jointly produced by Sinha under Benaras Media Works and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The film marks their third collaboration after Thappad and Anek.
Bheed went to floors in November last year and was wrapped in December. The film will be the second collaboration between Rajkummar and Bhumi after Badhaai Do, which was released recently. Earlier, Anubhav said in a statement, “I couldn’t have asked for a better cast. These are performers who not only shine every time they are on screen; they elevate the written word to create magic on screen. I am blessed to have the team I am working with.”
Lauding Anubhav Sinha, Bhumi said, “He shares my value system in believing that movies have the power to shift mindsets. As artists, the responsibility for telling such stories lies with us. The same goes for Bhushan Kumar who allows his writers, directors and actors to be gutsy, giving them the confidence of being the inspired producer he is. This is a crackling subject...”
Bhushan Kumar said he is extremely proud of Bheed and the subject it tackles. “Anubhav Sinha’s process of working is so effortless that I couldn’t have asked for a better partner at work. Bheed is another one of those projects I am super proud of. It’s a hard-hitting story and he has brought onboard exemplary actors,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor recently, kick-started the shooting of their film Mr and Mrs Mahi in Mumbai. This is the second collaboration between Rajkummar and Janhvi. Earlier, the actors shared screen space in Roohi. Rajkummar’s film HIT - The First Case with Sanya Malhotra will hit the theatres on July 15. Rajkummar has reportedly signed another film with Anubhav, this time for an anthology that is set against the Covid pandemic.
On the other hand, Bhumi is currently working on The Lady Killer with Arjun Kapoor. Helmed by Ajay Bahl and backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Shaailesh R Singh, The Lady Killer is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with Karma Media and Entertainment.
