Five people have been killed and 10 people have been rescued in a massive landslide at Pettimudi in Rajamala in Idukki district during the early hours of Friday. 65 people are feared to be trapped under the soil and rocks that fell over the human settlements. A team of the forest officials and the locals in the area had begun the rescue operations. Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has informed that the state government has sought the help of the air force for airlifting the injured from the spot.
