Kawasaki Vulcan S • Price, Variants & Specifications
Vulcan S is Kawasaki’s first cruiser for Indian market and it directly competes with Harley Davidson’s Street 750. Kawasaki makes it a different one with matt shade or glossy black; it gets the cruiser look with inverted triangle headlamp, tapered handlebar, stylish alloy wheels and the rear mono shock absorber.
Vulcan S becomes traditional with its flowing style, long and low stance and with five spoke alloy wheels. Multi-position levers on the handle allow the riders to adjust lever position to suit the preference of the rider. It comes with slim backbone-style rear frame; which with rear suspension and swing arm create an integrated line. The instrument cluster has analogue tachometer and multi-purpose LCD screen that features all the indicators and keep the rider fully equipped. 649cc, Parallel Twin engine delivers smooth, responsive performance especially in the low and medium rpm ranges. It offers smooth starts from a standstill, smooth acceleration and a satisfying pull when accelerating. The compact engine and slim frame has a relaxed foot-forward riding position. 3-position foot pegs allow riders to adjust foot position to suit size and preference. Muffler located under the engine contributes to a low centre of gravity which caters both power and style.
The 649 cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke Parallel Twin DOHC 8 valves fuel injected engine produces maximum power of 61PS at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 63Nm at 6,600 rpm. It has 83 x 60mm Bore x Stroke and 10.8:1 compression ratio. It comes with electric digital ignition and 6 speed transmission. Perimeter, high-tensile steel frame, 41mm telescopic fork and Offset laydown single-shock, linkage equipped with adjustable preload provide stability and control on long cruising.
The front tyre of Vulcan S measures 120/70 R18 M/C 59H and the rear tyre measures 160/60 R17 M/C 69H.
Single disc with dual piston callipers in front and single disc with single piston calliper in rear ensure safety and it is enhanced with dual channel ABS.
Vulcan S comes with digital ignition; LED headlamp, LED tail lamp and LED turn signal indicators are given.
Length: 2310mm, Width: 855mm, Height: 1090mm, Wheelbase: 1575mm and Ground Clearance: 130mm. It has 235kg of Kerb weight.
Vulcan S contains 14 litres of fuel storage capacity.
