October 17 : The auspicious festival of Navratri starts today. On this special occasion, Bollywood celebs have taken to their social media handles and sent Navratri wishes to their fans.

Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter and Instagram handles to send wishes to her fans on the special day along with a strong message. Urging everyone to work on enhancing their energy system, the Queen actress shared a throwback picture of herself, in which she can be seen clad in a traditional saree, seeking blessings from the Mother Goddess at a Shakti temple. The actress wrote, “Shiva is absolute nothingness Shakti is the play of energy which means Shakti is everything has tremendous possibilities, let’s work on enhancing our energy system #Navaratri2020”

The celebrations of Navratri take place in the month of Sharad (autumn). It involves worshipping Goddess Durga and her nine forms. The fun-filled festival is celebrated across the country in many different ways. On this auspicious occasion, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who never fails to wish and thank his fans on any occasion, took to his social media accounts to wish his fans and their families with good health and happiness. He wished everyone to get the blessings of Mother Goddess.

Over the next nine days, devotees will observe fasts and offer prayers to Goddess Durga. Also known as Sharad Navratri, the nine days are celebrated to mark Goddess Durga's victory over demon Mahishasura, signifying the victory of good over evil. Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami is celebrated on the 10th day of Sharad Navratri.

On this occasion, Vidya Balan also took to her Instagram handle and wished her fans happy Navratri. Clad in a heavy saree in red and gold, the actress looked gorgeous in her traditional avatar, as she wrote, “Happy Navratri... Happy #GoddessPower time”
