September 07 : Chitrakoot: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in the holy city of Chitrakoot on Sunday on a one-day visit. During the visit, the Chief Minister conducted aerial and ground inspections of areas affected by the severe floods. He met hundreds of families affected by the flooding of the Mandakini River, enquired about their hardships, and distributed ration kits and relief material to them.
Providing immediate assistance in this hour of disaster, the Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs 1.20 lakh each to three flood victims whose homes had been washed away in the floods. He also distributed land allotment certificates to some beneficiaries. The administration is currently conducting a survey, and similar assistance will soon be provided to other affected people as well.
While distributing relief material, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the public that the Uttar Pradesh Government stands firmly with flood victims in this time of crisis. He said, “No affected person needs to worry. The government will provide every possible assistance, without any discrimination, to all affected people from every section of society.” CM Yogi issued strict instructions to officials that negligence at any level in relief operations would not be tolerated.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who visited to understand the suffering of flood-affected people and review the latest status of relief operations, distributed assistance from the stage during the relief material distribution programme held at the Ramayan Mela in Chitrakoot. He handed over cheques of Rs 1.20 lakh each to Mukesh, Lallu and Chunnilal for the complete damage of their houses, while Ram Suraj and Suraj Kali were provided with land allotment certificates.
Flood victims appeared pleased after receiving immediate assistance from the Chief Minister. After receiving relief material and assurances of permanent housing, people expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister.
Rani and Manju, residents of the Sitapur Malkana area, said, “Our entire house was submerged in the flood, and all our household belongings were destroyed. Today, the Chief Minister himself came and gave us a ration kit, which has brought us great relief. The Chief Minister has also assured us that a new house will be built for us.”
Asha, a resident of Katra Gujar village, said, “Our house was submerged in the flood. However, due to the alertness of the administration and the Yogi Government, we have been continuously receiving food and essential supplies since the very first day of the flood. Even amid the disaster, we were not allowed to go hungry.”
Another flood victim, Gyan Singh, said, “My mud house collapsed in the flood. Today, I received a ration kit and also an assurance that a house will be built for me. I have never seen such a Chief Minister in my life who personally comes among victims so quickly and shares their pain and suffering. What Yogi Ji has done, no Chief Minister has ever done before.”
The people of Chitrakoot and public representatives have highly appreciated the Chief Minister’s prompt visit and sensitivity. After visiting the flood-affected areas, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with the local administration and directed officials to restore normalcy as quickly as possible and expedite rehabilitation efforts.
