In a big jolt to India's World Cup chances, opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been reportedly out of the marquee tournament for at least three weeks. This means that the southpaw will not play any more matches in the World Cup. Shikhar Dhawan played a match winning innings against Australia when he scored a stroke filled 117. Dhawan injured his thumb after being hit twice during the match against Australia. A scan revealed that there is a fracture in the left thumb.
