England captain Eoin Morgan hit record 17 sixes against Afghanistan at the Cricket World Cup. This is the most number of sixes hit by a batsman in a one-day international cricket innings. Eoin Morgan smashed 148 runs off just 71 balls in his innings, the fourth fastest century in World Cup history. The England captain scored more than a hundred runs off sixes alone, and only hit four fours in his innings. Prior to his innings, three other batsmen Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers had shared the previous record of 16 sixes in an ODI innings.
