On Dec 1st 2018, it marks the 30th anniversary of this special day. The movement began in 1988 and it was taken by UNAIDS.
The idea originated in 1988 at the World Summit of Ministers of Health on the Programmes for AIDS Prevention.
From December 1st till December 7th, a lot of activities will take place to spread the awareness every year.

Almost about 12,333 people are dying every year in USA due to HIV or AIDS.
Though these numbers will leave us depressed, the good news is that- due to the increased awareness programs, the number has reduced from a whopping 21,601 (this was the estimated causalities in 2009) .
